At the presentation in Chicago, Apple introduced a new tablet computer, designed specifically for the educational segment. The company said that this is the most affordable iPad, released ever under the “apple” brand.

The latest iPad has a 9.7-inch Retina display, A10 Fusion processor, as in iPhone 7, 8-megapixel main camera, FaceTime front-facing HD camera, fingerprint reader ID Touch, compass, GPS, LTE support and 10 hours of battery life. In addition, the presented iPad, like the models of iPad Pro line, fully supports the work with Apple Pencil.

Specifically for iPad tablets and a new model in particular, Apple announced a number of new software features. The entire package of office applications iWork will be updated and will acquire support for Apple Pencil. In Pages, Numbers and Keynote, you will be able to add annotations that are bound to a specific word. GarageBand and Clips applications will be updated, in which content for children will appear.

Shared iPad allows you to create many accounts on your tablet. For example, on one device, you can add accounts for each student in the class. For macOS, a Classroom application will be released, allowing the teacher to remotely control student tablets. Also, the Schoolwork program was announced with the help of which it’s possible to distribute exercises, check them, monitor the performance process and so that no one plays during class.

For students, the amount of free storage in the cloud service iCloud was increased from 5 to 200 GB.

The new iPad will cost $ 329 for regular users and $ 299 for schools.
